First non-filled synthetic turf approved by FFF
The city of Seynod is located in the French Alps where the weather conditions especially in autumn and winter have a strong influence on the conditions of the football fields. Therefore, it was decided to construct a synthetic turf system at the “Stade de Vieugy”, home of the ambitious football club US Semnoz-Vieugy. It ensures training sessions and games to take place the whole year through, no matter what the weather conditions are.
For this project a non-filled synthetic turf was selected, the REAL FT 35 slide nf made by GreenFields. GreenFields’ synthetic turf system without rubber infill fits to the ecological vision “Projet Eco Plaisir” of the club. With this project it has launched several programs to create awareness for social as well as ecological aspects and has enhanced the role of the club and its players in the local community. Providing a safe, durable synthetic turf system with high playing characteristics was one of the goals.
GreenFields is well known for its innovative approach to non-infill synthetic turf systems. The density of the fibre’s coupled with two heights of fibre provide playing characteristics and quality very close to that of the nature of the game. The playing conditions of a non-filled system are constant if maintenance is done properly and regularly. Maintenance of is easier compared to a synthetic turf system with rubber infill. The non-filled synthetic turf system has been tested and approved according to the standards of the French Federation of Football. GreenFields is the first company to comply to these regulations with a non-filled synthetic turf system.
This project was realized by GreenFields France sarl. Régis Paillard, sales manager, said: “Artificial grass without rubber infill is easier to maintain than artificial turf with rubber infill. Furthermore, the constant performance of the system will allow the players to enjoy playing football the whole year through. We feel that everybody at the club has a passion for the game and that’s why we are sure they like this football facility very much”.
