Football Turf for Chad National Stadium
Football turf for Chad
The President of the Chadian FA, Adoum Younousmi, recently met with FIFA President Joseph Blatter in Zurich. The two officials discussed how football in Chad can be successfully developed.
An interesting statement in relation to football turf was made by the FA President – “We asked [FIFA] President Blatter to do everything he can to assist with the development of synthetic pitches in Africa”. Due to the arid African climate, there are significant benefits of using synthetic grass for football pitches. Football Turf provides a match quality playing surface all year round without being scorched by the intense heat or withered due to water shortages. The Chad national football stadium is already fitted with a sports turf system by GreenFields.
Backed by the Chad government, the FA President has now asked FIFA to assist with the development of synthetic pitches in Africa as much as possible. The “Win in Africa with Africa” project by FIFA has greatly contributed to the enthusiasm for this development and artificial Football Turf.
Win In Africa with Africa
This FIFA development project first emerged after it was announced that South Africa will host the 2010 FIFA World Cup. FIFA’s objectives are to develop the game, touch the world and build a better future for Africa. This initiative has a seventy million dollar budget and is backed by the United Nations.
GreenFields are actively involved with development of the game, having already installed Football Turf in several African stadiums. By the 2010 FIFA World Cup, even more football stadiums in Africa will be enjoying the benefits of a synthetic FIFA recommended pitch.
