First synthetic turf for official games in Poland
As a consequence the new facility will host the matches played not only by the local Arka Gdynia football and rugby club, but also by the Polish national teams. It is the first synthetic turf pitch in Poland on which official matches can be played.
Artur Sobecki, Sales and Marketing Manager at Tamex Obiekty Sportowe S.A., said: “In view of the high usage in combination with the desire to attract more fans to sporting events, the city were aware that a new pitch should be versatile to maximise the number of different types of sporting activities and events. They didn’t only want to modernise, but were particularly interested in the overall performance of the field.”
Tamex Obiekty Sportowe S.A., partner in Poland of the company GreenFields, advised the City of Gdynia on a synthetic turf system on which football as well as rugby can be played. Artur Sobecki, Sales Marketing Manager at Tamex, explains: “The advantages of a synthetic turf in a stadium are obvious. With little maintenance, in comparison to natural turf, a constant playing quality is available at any time of the year; even if the field is used for multiple events. Synthetic turf offers quality and comfort while maximising the profitable use.” The City of Gdynia already has experience with synthetic turf and is aware that maintenance is essential to keep the level of playing quality and to protect their investment.
