FIFA 2 star 4 times in a row

For the 4th time GreenFields have achieved FIFA 2-Star recommended status for their synthetic turf installation at Stenhousemuir FC. After achieving the initial FIFA 2 Star recommended status in 2006, the artificial turf system has now passed the re-test for a 3rd time this year. “We’re pleased that we have once again passed the stringent FIFA 2-Star recommended test,” said Hugo de Vries, director of GreenFields. “The quality of a synthetic turf pitch is determined by the quality of each component and especially the knowledge to combine them. Regular maintenance with the correct equipment is then required to sustain this high quality standard. Stenhousemuir is a perfect example of that.”

The installation of the GreenFields synthetic football turf system has allowed Stenhousemuir FC to make much greater use of their match pitch over the past 3 years. The awareness for the need of a maintenance programme specific to the requirements of the synthetic turf field was identified at the date of the initial installation. The club realised from the beginning that maintenance was an important feature to sustain the total quality of the synthetic turf system. By passing the 3rd FIFA re-test, Stenhousemuir FC has demonstrated that maintenance is essential to keep the level of playing quality and to protect the investment.

Gordon Thompson, Managing Director of GreenFields Allsports Ltd. says: “The installation of the FIFA 2 Star pitch has been a massive boost to Stenhousemuir, both from a quality facility perspective as well as revenue generation. Stenhousemuir’s awareness of the importance of maintenance allowed us to implement a consistent maintenance program. This is the 4th time we passed the FIFA 2-Star recommended test for the synthetic turf system we initially installed in 2006. That proves that maintenance is a must to achieve a constant playing quality through the years.”
