Everest College Installs New Athletic Field
GreenFields Sports Turf Partner Wins Bid To Refurbish Aging Courts
Santiago de Chile, Chile (April 21, 2015) – MW Sport Welt, exclusive distributor of GreenFields artificial turf systems in Chile, recently completed construction of a new athletic field for Everest College. The new field is built on the foundation of an earlier construction that had succumbed to wear due to a number of factors including weather and high usage.
The original field was built by one of MW Sport Welt’s primary competitors.
“The school called us recently to participate in the bidding for the new athletic track of the College.” says MW Sport Welt General Manager Juan Carlos Moeckel. “Thanks to the good experience we had with this work we were again called to participate in the renewal of the synthetic pitch.”
Proven Quality and Durability
GreenFields was chosen to replace the ailing turf pitch, fitting to its particular suitability for a variety of sports and other purposes. GreenFields has built a reputation for constructing sports pitches that are among the most safe and durable in the industry. As a trusted partner with major sports organizations all over the world, particularly FIFA, for we have constructed well over 200 fields and sports complexes.
“By analyzing the high demand of use on the court, no doubt that the ideal alternative was to propose the XP intensive fiber of GreenFields,” Moeckel said.
Other bidders attempted to capture the Everest College project and several others were considered, but the quality of the GreenFields turf system was the deciding factor. According to Moeckel, the college was able to save a considerable amount of money by building on the existing field’s foundation.
Multi-Sport Functionality
The innovative design of the GreenFields system conforms and works well with the base elements of the original construction, which was overlaid with brand new GreenFields turf, infill, shockpads and subbase. The new courts will play host to a variety of team sports including Football, Hockey, and Rugby as well as Tennis and other multi-sport purposes. Primarily current students and alumni of the college will utilize the field.
